bug report with screenshots
LO Writer crashed reproducibly when I worked with it on a big document (more
than 1200 pages), the document was equipped with an automatically generated
Table of Content. It happened with
Version: 26.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 05fb33a4296b48b2910422a2b12228f0a7dfb64a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: sv-SE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
when trying to store the document or to update its TOC. I could recover the
document after the crashes.
I let LO Writer report the bug, but the message during this procedure was not
helpful. It even did not tell me about the success of uploading the dump file.
I would expect that the error message shows
* the name and location of the transferred dumpfile and its size and that the
upload has happened,
* any shorter bug designation, under which I can add additional information.
This one might be a link to the issue and it might tell more about the kind of
the bug (e.g. segmentation fault in module .... or any other meaningful
attribute associated kind of automatic bug reports). Of course lots of similar
bug reports will be triaged, so different bug reports might point to the same
page as the triage and fixing proceeds and there might also be questions to the
bug reporters, what they exactly did before the bug happened or if the bug can
be reproduced if they try some specific steps with the document, in which the
bug occurred.
