Bug ID: 167898
Summary: Intermittent Auto-Scrolling When Extending Cell
Selection in Calc
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.2.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In LibreOffice Calc, when using the fill handle to extend cell content, the
sheet sometimes begins to scroll vertically on its own—even though the mouse
pointer is not near the window edges. This issue does not occur consistently
and seems to depend on specific content or layout within the spreadsheet.
Steps to Reproduce:
Steps to Reproduce (intermittent):
Open a spreadsheet containing mixed content (e.g., text, numbers,
formulas).
Select a cell with content.
Hover over the bottom-right corner of the cell to activate the fill handle.
Click and drag downward to extend the cell’s content.
In certain cases, the sheet starts scrolling vertically without user
intent, even though the pointer remains well within the visible area.
Actual Results:
The sheet scrolls vertically without user input, making it difficult to control
the fill range. This behavior is intermittent and appears to be triggered by
specific spreadsheet content or structure.
Expected Results:
The sheet should remain stationary unless the pointer approaches the top or
bottom edge of the window during drag operations.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Notes:
The issue does not occur consistently and may be tied to specific
spreadsheet content.
Reducing zoom level or switching to Safe Mode does not resolve the issue.

A short video demonstrating the issue has been recorded and can be shared
if needed.
This behavior was not observed in earlier versions of LibreOffice (e.g.,
7.x series).
