I am aware that spreadsheet tools are frequently used for accounting and
finances, but the behavior of these 2 types of tools is not always the same.

See <https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/Calc/Accuracy>.

If you want to limit the precision to a specific number of decimals, there are
a couple of things you could do.

One method is to set "Precision as shown". The result depends on each cell's
displayed format (e.g. number format, column width), and you should always be
aware of both (the setting and each cell's formatting), for every file you work
on.

The second (and probably, preferred) method is to use rounding functions (e.g.
ROUND, TRUNC, FLOOR, CEILING, etc.) where they are needed.

Each method has pros and cons.

Without having a minimal sample spreadsheet file that would include the
specific formulas and specific problematic values, there is no way to discern
whether there is really a bug, or instead the result is "expected" according to
accuracy limitations in Calc.

To be clear, similar accuracy limitations exist in every other spreadsheet
tool; the only issue is in which situations the inaccuracies are more evident
in each.

I am setting this report as NAB, based on the limited info we have. If anyone
disagrees and can show an example that is not pertinent to natural limitations,
please re-set this report to UNCONFIRMED.
