Bug ID: 163282 Summary: FORMATTING: Files exported as docx do not respect manual line breaks Product: LibreOffice Version: 24.8.2.1 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mister...@protonmail.com Description: Writing a document with manual line breaks made using shift+enter seems to break under some circumstances when saving the file in docx format. I have noticed this in a file I have done for my typesetting class, that stresses a line cannot end in preposition in Czech language. Steps taken: -pasted text -justified it -manually fixed any lines ending with prepositions using shift+enter -saved the files as both odt and docx in the same session, without doing any other work that could change the formatting in between When the file was saved as odt, formatting was kept as expected, the same file saved as docx ignores many (though not all) of these line breaks, effectively making the rendered file invalid/not fit for purpose. Please compare the formatting in the two files attached, for example on this line: "Není nad to, pustit si večer film a relaxovat, u toho se i smát, bavit se, nebo se naopak vystrašit a pak jen přemýšlet o smyslu filmu." This is also reproducible if I open the odt file and save it as a docx. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Write a document or open the odt file above 2. save as docx Actual Results: Formatting differs between the files, ignoring many manual line breaks Expected Results: Files should be formatted properly Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version info: Version: 24.8.2.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 480(Build:1) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: kf6 (cairo+wayland) Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US 24.8.2-1 Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
