With my certitudes and my resolved doubts (thanking you all!), I went ahead with LFS-Book-7.0, smoothly arriving at the end of chapter 6. With the exception of some patches I found in lfs-support, there was at all no problem. My i7 on asus sand bridge motherboard and 16 GB RAM allowed me to build always with "make -j8": so, very very quickly, and always without errors. Before beginning chapter 7, I would like to resolve two small problems:
(i) notwithstanding successive trials, Automake-1.11.1 remains with four failing tests (aclocal4, 5 and 6, subdir8), and every time I repeat the "make check" I notice a change in the type of failing test; (ii) Gettext-0.18.1.1 constantly remains with two failing tests: test-areadlink, and test-readlink. Is it possible to quietly go ahead or should I find some specific patches? Many thanks to all you. giocitta 2011/12/3 Chris Staub <[email protected]>: > On 12/03/2011 04:53 AM, Giorgio Cittadini wrote: >> Hi Andy, thanks for your quick answer.
