Hi people? I downloaded the sources listed in the LFS-Book-6.8 as
suggested. The build for gcc-4.5.2 however failed with a segmentation
fault as shown in the list below.

../../gcc-4.5.2/libiberty/cp-demangle.c: In function 'd_demangle_callback':
../../gcc-4.5.2/libiberty/cp-demangle.c:4777: warning: 'dc' may be
used uninitialized in this function
configure: WARNING: fixed-point is not supported for this target
Links are now set up to build a cross-compiler
 from i686-pc-linux-gnu to i686-lfs-linux-gnu.
configure: WARNING: using cross tools not prefixed with host triplet
configure: WARNING: cannot check for properly working vsnprintf when
cross compiling, will assume it's ok
../../../gcc-4.5.2/libiberty/cp-demangle.c: In function 'd_demangle_callback':
../../../gcc-4.5.2/libiberty/cp-demangle.c:4777: warning: 'dc' may be
used uninitialized in this function
gengtype-lex.c: In function 'yy_get_next_buffer':
gengtype-lex.c:1875: warning: comparison between signed and unsigned
../../gcc-4.5.2/gcc/c-common.c: In function 'c_common_nodes_and_builtins':

Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
make[2]: *** [c-common.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-gcc] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Currently I'm searching for ways this would be corrected: I'd be
grateful for any pointers to possible solutions.

Below is an edited listing of the more important (I think) host system
specifications:

version 4.1.3 20080704 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-25)) #1 SMP Mon Aug
