Before you continue on with your adventure, please be sure to read the
essential prereading hint. This will make life a lot easier for you on
your new journey with LFS.

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/hints/downloads/files/essential_prereading.txt

For your first few builds, it is highly recommended that you use the
latest stable version of LFS (6.8 at this moment), and strictly follow
the book. After you get comfortable, you can afford to experiment,
like trying out the development version of LFS, or trying some hints,
like the pkgusr and initramfs ones.

As for BLFS, there is no real stable version of that book right out
now, so I'd actually recommend that you use the development version.
When you run into a issue in either book that is not user error, go to
the LFS trac, get a account there, and file a ticket about the issue
(while checking for preexisting tickets by searching). The LFS trac is
here:

Have fun, don't panic, and don't forget to bring your towel!!! (on
second thought, leave the towel behind)
