Hi Lennon,

Tks for your advice,

I checked my notes against "Section 4.3. Adding the LFS User" of the
book.

I completed running follows;
# chown -v lfs $LFS/tools
# chown -v lfs $LFS/sources

But
# ls -l $LFS
total 28
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2005-12-26 17:19 home
drwx------ 2 root root 16384 2005-12-26 17:19 lost+found
drwxrwxrwt 4 lfs root 4096 2005-12-26 18:44 sources
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2005-12-26 17:28 tools

Only /sources changed not /tools as well.

I re-ran
# chown -v lfs $LFS/tools

# ls -l $LFS
total 28
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2005-12-26 17:19 home
drwx------ 2 root root 16384 2005-12-26 17:19 lost+found
drwxrwxrwt 4 lfs root 4096 2005-12-26 18:44 sources
drwxr-xr-x 2 lfs root 4096 2005-12-26 17:28 tools

Now "make install" went through without complaint. I could not find
out its cause. I'm running LFS LiveCD-6.1.1.2 as host.

Anyway tks again.

Futhermore what will be the use of the password? On running "su - lfs"
it did not request for password. Tks
