Ok, when I get to a stage to build the kernel I will make sure I build the required stuff directly into it. However at this stage I am trying to get the livecd to see the hd. Any ideas? If this isn't possible I will attempt the LFS build using the SLAX livecd which gives me a distro base to work from.
