Thank you. I saw in the gcc log similar new g++ and libstdc++ errors that I mentioned originally. I think I can conclude that at least it's not just me or something that I botched. I haven't begun compiling anything in this new system yet, so I don't know if any of this stuff even matters. If the final version has nothing more than a new kernel, then I intend to forge ahead with this system.
