 Thanks - I think it came after my previous builds, and I overlooked
it in my haste to build something different to test my hardware -
which is still running into catastrophic periods of Internal
Compiler Errors from time to time :-(

 Using sync ; echo 3 >/proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
has belatedly let me resume building, as far as the next breakage in
my desktop packages (gnumeric).
