Simply posting a sysvinit vs. upstart vs. systemd set of timings using that tool should be good enough to prove how much we can save here. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that due to the minimal nature of a by-the-book LFS system, any speedup will be negligible. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong though. I doubt that even a BLFS system will see much improvement as it will (or should!) be tailored to a user's specific needs rather than being a generic distro with lots of services being started.
