Even if what you say is true (and I'm not going to test it), I have 
several different distros installed on different partitions, each with 
their own /boot/grub. Which partition will grub choose? If you move it's 
files to some random partition, how will it tell one from the other? 
This doesn't sound to me like the kind of scenario we should be 
describing in LFS.
