i just attached an additional disk to the esata port. the /dev/disk/by-* structure was updated, the new partitions showed up. mounting (even by -U uuid) works fine. even "tune2fs -U <newid>" works fine despite the lib is not from e2fsprog but the one from util-linux-ng. actually for me it seems to be ok. e2fsprogs can't be built without libblkid as almost every tool within this package depends on the library. but afterwards the lib can be replaced by the one built from util-linux-ng. anyboy out there suggesting another test i could make? i don't upgrade udev to 1.43 for the moment, as they made to many changes (see the thread about "udev 143" by william immendorf) and now require additional packages which i have not testetd at all... i guess i'll stick with 1.42 and try to get backports for security issues. tobias -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
