I've been putting the DESTDIR directory as a subdirectory of the root of the build tree. I only did that so when I remove the build tree after installation, the DESTDIR directory is removed as well. But it could be anywhere. In fact, I disagree with Alex in that it cannot be outside the active (chrooted) partition. Nothing keeps one from mounting any partition and using it while in Chapter 6 chroot. > You said you use scripts. Can you post a typical script? If it must be on public display, allow me to clean it up just a bit. :-) -- Randy rmlscsi: [bogomips 1003.22] [GNU ld version 2.16.1] [gcc (GCC) 4.0.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6] [Linux 2.6.14.3 i686] 10:50:00 up 43 days, 1:38, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.02, 0.13 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
