"Who, What, Why, When and Where". "How" can be discovered by just viewing the (chosen PM) spec and invocation script as they are, plain text. Whether the chosen spec is RPM, DESTDIR or NONE should ideally affect only the "Where" text.
In other words the text could be a simple "toXML markup". Script and PM selection are where the problems are. All supported PM's in all Packages/Modules: That is a great endeavor. That's my take.
