I'm really unfamiliar with ed, so I don't know if the ed script would
work correctly as an sed script.  I'd be willing to try it, though, as
this is the first time in a longggg time I can recall needing ed.
Going, from memory, I think this sed would fix it

sed -i 's/^ed/sed/' configure

Definitely needs testing, though, the script being used is not a
simple find-and-replace or something like that.  I'll look into it.
Just got back from a long weekend vacation, though, so I have so real
life tasks in the queue.

This should probably be reported as a bug to Xorg.
