My status with the alphabetical build:

Built the system.  Everything compiled.  It booted.  I didn't go at it
any further.  (Got wrapped up in my scripting system as I do every
time I try to build the whole thing).

Anyway, I'm not sure if those gcc test failures stem from the
alphabetical nature or if I got those on the normal SVN.  Last time I
built the system with minimal toolchain test failures was with
gcc-3.4.4, but it was not exactly by the LFS way.  I'll give it
another go over the weekend and keep some more notes instead of just
fussing with bash scripts.
