I'd flip a coin and offer an opinion, but a coin only has two sides. :-) Seriously, I like #2 or #3 simply because it is one less thing to have to download. It matters not to me whether to chown in the source tree or on the installed files. Though I think from an educational standpoint, chowning the installed files gives the users more of a clue what files are actually being altered. I can see the text if you decide on #3. "Some of the files installed by the package have incorrect ownership....". "Some of the files" doesn't give a very good indication of what actually was wrong with the installation. The text for #2, would be "These files are installed with incorrect ownership...." -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 15:01:01 up 126 days, 14:34, 2 users, load average: 1.13, 0.30, 0.13 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
