So my point is: Jim's been working on the book to a large extent by
himself for the past few weeks and his goal is just to get a sane-ish
book ready for public review and comments and suggestions. (Also for
the addition of text.) So perhaps a little slack should be allowed him
here, it's not like there's been a lot of things *to* discuss or
approach the community about as yet.
Thank you Jeremy for that.
On the other hand, Jim, I do think you could try to be a little more
vocal with the rest of the community on the lists, regardless of
whether or not you think they agree with you.
I'm just trying to produce a product that will be easy for everyone to
use. All I've seen on the lists is negativity on the book, which isn't
even in testing yet. From my understanding of the policies of LFS,
anything that's not in testing is free game to change, unless some can
prove me wrong here.
The change I made shortens the build of the cross-tools, to me it was a
no-brainer to add, but if everyone wants me to revert it give me a good
reason and I will.
BTW, where did Jim say that the book was ready for drop-in text? I
don't recall seeing that at all... did I miss something? The book
probably *is* ready, though, for one or more experienced LFSers to
grab it and start testing.
I did say the book was ready for word smithing and it still is, minus 3
builds in cross-tools.
