The only > resolution would be to completely recompile Glibc. I've recently rebuilt my system from a pre-6.0 document base to a recent SVN-20050219 release. I was stuck with that strip induced libc.a problem too. I did manage to get away from that trap by re-starting the whole compiles yet an other time. That means that while http://lfs.osuosl.org/lfs/view/development/ cites the standard method of doing two passes in chapter 5 to make the temporary system... I did something like 3 passes if I remember. I forgot if I did use the gcc and libs from the previous /tools, I should have written my steps down back then. I thought only me with my faith in cvs/svn releases were the ones to be caught. While I have stripped my binaries, I haven't stripped my libs ever again. I guess I can do it now. -- Messer Gamera, Great UDP Packet Magnetiser Of The Egyptian BSD Lodge, Calculator Of The TTL Longitudes, Divinator Of Nette Masques Addresses, Disque Eraser Extraordinaire of the Oriental Tapes Archives. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page
