Hi Andrew, I've tried setting XmNtraversalOn False for "vertScroll" widget in its creation in Matrix.c and still see the textfield unmapping when vert-scrolled.... The horizScroll does not have this set and don't experience the unmapping, so I wonder if this is the problem.
