Rev d3e7ead is a long-awaited milestone. All importers are subclasses of the Importer class in linescanner.py, except for the json importer, which is stand-alone code.
None of Leo's importers uses any code in basescanner.py, including the infamous BaseScanner class, and the obsolete ImportController and LineScanner classes. As a result, basescanner.py will move from leo/plugins/importers to the attic: leo/doc/leoNotes.txt. This will allow further code cleanups. The unit test for the rst importer fail at present. This does not greatly concern me, as I'll discuss in another thread. I'll be documenting some cool code today. After that, my hands are telling me I need a break. We'll see whether I listen to them.
