Would it have worked out better if you had used the spindle motor drive to rough cut the blank before cutting the rope? I also wounder if cutting from the side would have offered a cleaner cut for this type of project? I have not worked a lot with acrylics, and honestly do not know what if the best method for cutting acrylics would be. Your end results looks very nice.
