I nailed my flag to the Curbishley camp from the moment Blackwell went. He didn't come because sadly West Aaaaamm were always going to get him (and look what he's done, off field shenanigans aside). When Wise came I was pretty much in the "Hmmm, not convinced but he had half a decent season managing Millwall and then fell out with the board and he seems to be doing OK with Swindon" plus he's played the modern game and understands the running of it ... now. He's made a prat of himself in many many ways by opening his gob and spouting venom, the humiliating of Kelly IF TRUE is a disgrace, an absolute management atrocity of the highest order .. if it did indeed happen. BUT ... A lot of what Wise has done I can't argue with football wise, IMHO the squad looked fitter and better organised in the latter part of the season and the record in the run in was not relegation material. What most people appear to do on this list is see the world in black and white, he's shit, he's not, he's a tedious cockerknee wanker, he's better than blackwell ... Well he's probably all of these, but I think at the root of the man there is a strong manager who needs to learn some humility and quickly. Yes, in the black and white world of the list, Wise took us down to the 3rd division, in my world he was at the helm when the ship finally went down after 4 years of staying afloat with the bilge pump running at max (I'm not a sailor BTW ;-)). So where do I stand on it all? Unless the ownership of the club is sorted very quickly (Which it won't, I expect it to carry on for at least 6 to 8 weeks whilst bids, counter bids, FA Approval etc. etc. are sorted) which leaves us where we are now, with Bates in charge and a lot of work to be done on the playing side. I say leave him there for now, or if you are getting rid and have a ready made replacement do it now, but that won't happen whilst Bates is in charge IMHO. I think Wise can do the job but needs some serious lessons on how to handle the PR side. Let him get a squad together that can do the immediate job at hand, i.e. get us back up straight away!)
