What Bates needs to do, to compensate the loyal season ticket holders is to;
regardless of which division we are playing in next season is to offer a
substantial discount to anyone renewing their season ticket...

It rewards the loyalty as well as redressing the balance for the cheap
tickets, this season.

If he is smart he will also reduce ALL ticket prices, in general from the
start.

In his comments, the other day he produced figures appearing to show that
the revenue from tickets sales at the reduced price games was about even
with the those from the lower crowds at regular priced games; however he did
not mention any increased revenue from shop and catering services, which
surely have to be showing a substantial profit increase for those cheap
ticket games.

That, added to all the atmosphere, advertising/sponsorship and prestige
benefits can only be a model for good business, both now and in the future.

Bates may be many unsavoury things, but a bad business man or one who can't
learn from his mistakes are not ones that spring to the top of the list, in
mind..

So those fortunate enough to be close enough to attend take advantage of the
prices and show him what the potential really is.. For my ex-pat part I'll
keep paying my members dues and subscribing to the online TV channel,
helping sponsor Eddie's shirt; together with the occasional trip home at
whatever the cost of admission on the day.

Together we will rise again...

While I truly sympathise with Rich and the other ST holders and hope the
club sees sense, in rewarding/compensating you in some way; however, like
so many ex-pats.... I envy your being in the position to own those season
tickets, at any price.. (Of course that does not give the club the right to
take advantage of you, or any of us..)

With a little common sense...and some decent footy Fortress Elland Road,
may, soon be in full effect once again.

MOT

Cheers,

Nige
