I'd also ask, from within the football world - not blinkered supporters,
how you can state explicitly that Wise was not a popular player and how HE
(And not a club riddled with money issues and in seemingly terminal
decline) cannot attract calibre players when he's just done that and
they've got injured as Shaun says.
Oh and name me one manager who would come out after a match and say "We
were shit and it's going to be worse next week"???? It doesn't happen
Phil, simple as, you simply HAVE to put a positive spin on things where
you can, thats the nature of the job. I also don't think you can blame
Wise for the actions of two other people. Was it O'Leary's fault that
Woodgate and Bowyer did what they did? No.
What it highlights is what I've been saying about this whole situation. IF
(And it's a small if now) we stay up, then we'll be no better off other
than the on going payments reduction. We'll have a playing staff of poor
quality championship players (But taking Beckford as an example) very good
standard League 1 players. We'll add some journeymen to that squad and
maybe ... MAYBE ... do OK next season. Wehereas the alternative is to hang
on where possible to the half decent players (And I totally and utterly
agree with you Phil about Foxe, Kandol and Heath (Although it's a bit
harsh on Stack I think)) and add players who will acheive our aim in
League 1 (Immediate promotion) In the meantime
