Isn't this EXACTLY the problem. Somebody came into this club with no intention of putting his money where his mouth is. What this club needs right now it a hefty chunk of investment Mr Bates. We KNOW that the problems cannot be easily solved from revenue but we didn't need you to tell us that. We knew that before you arrived. Maybe you didn't know that - but whose fault is that. We didn't invite you. It was that chancer Sainsbury. The club needed about £25 million at the time that you bought out Adulant force. Paying off the pressing tax bill was of course essential, and sincere thanks are due for that, but it is simply not enough. It is obvious that time improves the cashflow as far as the erosion of debt is concerned but in the meantime the other half of that income and expenditure equation cannot be ignored as that must be projecting downwards at an even faster rate than the debt. The time is running out and the lifting of the football debt burden this summer may be a little too late. If you are unwilling to inject capital - what is it that you are doing for this club ? I'm sure that Swiss Francs will be perfectly acceptable so long as they are in sufficient numbers. If you don't think that it would be a fantastic investment and that it will repay you many times over then I suppose that says it all. You might think that you are curing the patient but maybe, just maybe, you are actually killing the patient. Just in case anyone thinks this is an Anti-Bates rant as opposed to reasoned argument I suggest that everyone gets totally behind the team. We don't want anything to disrupt their concentration and their will to win at a time like this. We don't want a team who thinks that they have to fight the fans as well as the opposition. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
