If it was really going to break up the union I'd guess I would be anti - but it's not is it? What could have broken the Union would have been a further alienation of scots, welsh & irish, to the extent that they voted in a majority of MPs who would then have been able to exert enormous power in a hung parliament. AFAICS The Scottish Nazi (whoops sorry Nationalist) Party is lower in the polls than they were before regional assemblies. Mind you as their Oil is running out and we no longer need them as cannon fodder in our empire building, I'm not so sure it would really be such a big problem. We all ready have Parish, Local, Borough, County councils in England, Regional assemblies are just another rung, and if they are like the Welsh/Scots & NornIrish, they will also be able to subsidize Young Stig at his Drinking academy. Decentralisation is generally a good thing in my opinion. Anything that gets people of their fat arses and involved is good. ttfn Richard _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
