I've yet to post an "I'm mates with the boke who fitted Brenda Ormsby's carpets" type of rumour, probably because I lack the energy and imagination to make them up. However, in an unprecedented turn of events, I am sitting next to a colleague who had dinner last night with a real live former pro. The player in question is a former member of the "Crazy Gang" who, when asked if "Wisey" would be coming to Leeds, confirmed that he had been approached about the job, but was unsure about the likelihood of Leeds returning to the top flight, with relegation to div. 1 a real possibilty. With this in mind, it appears that he is unwilling to uproot his family from west London (fair enough, it's quite nice here) for what appears to be a poisoned chalice.
A really unexciting and slightly shameful bit of information. The good news is, Dennis Wise is not the new manager, the bad news is, even Dennis Wise doesn't want to be the Leeds manager.
