Surprised nobody has commented on the England performance last night. Now I've always been a club before country man and right now can't tolerate the attitude of some of our so called England stars but even I despair at the current set up. First of all we appoint a manager who has done nowt and who has got a very dodgy haircut. We might well as appointed Brian Kidd - they're very similar. Having suffered that Mclaren then goes and appoints El Tel as his number 2. Now we all know that Tel is the biggest managerial con artist of our time. Tel has been pinching a living ever since he managed to win the Spanish league in a two horse race with Madrid. He hasn't got a clue. and now Mclaren decides to drop Beckham (no problems with that by the way) but then thinks that a midfield of Carrick and Lampard will do the job !!!! It's unbelievable. Lampard has never been good enough to play for England. Forget the goals , he's only effective when others can do the running for him and he can save himself to make a free runs with no other responsbilities. His shooting , which is usually his strong point seems to have deserted him and there's no justification at all for him being in the side. Carrick is similar. In my opinion the worse midfielder ever to turn out in an England shirt (yes , even worse than Carton Palmer and Geoff Thomas - remember that miss !?). Carrick was another player who never really broke through at West Ham. Always deemed a good young player with potential. Well, he's shit and I can only laugh at Scum who paid well over the odds for him. I watched him in the Scum v Arsenal game and he was completely out of his depth. He's slow and ponderous and he just isn't suited to a fast tempo game. Coupled with Lampard you have to ask questions about Mclaren and Tel.
