Carver is part of the Blackie regime. If he really has all these ideas that he's talking about then he either was quiet as a mouse under Blackie or Blackie rejected all his ideas. Let's get one thing straight here , the squad that we have , even with an injury to Cresswell is good enough to get promotion, like it was last season. For tomorrow , I'd go with the following Warner Kelly (Captain) Fox Killa Richardson Derry, Carole Stone, Westlake Healy Blake I'd play a diamond formation with Stone just behind the front two. Westlake and Derry would play in the centre (left and right centre midfield) with Carole given a free role to play on the left or the right depending where Brum might have weaknesses. He's our pace and he's our outlet. We play the ball on the floor through the middle with Carole providing the option to go out wide if necessary. Westlake and Derry stay close to Stone so that Stone doesn't have to do much running but is the fulcrum of the team in a similar way to we played at Palace with 10 men. This worked effectively and we created chances even with Healy playing on his own up front. Healy looked like a different player in that game. Under Blackwell though Healy plays most of the games with his back to goal and never gets the chance to run on to balls in the box where he is so effective. Richardson, Kelly, Killa and Fox all have pace at the back and can cope with any pace Brum bring. Kelly and Richardson will also have space to bring the ball forward and link up with Carole. They will also aways have an option to go centrally rather than the big punt up field which we saw so often from Crainey. Three concerns about my team. Lack of pace up front. I believe with Stone playing the Beardsley role we will get balls into the box for Blake and Healy. Carole will also play as a third striker whenever possible. It might be that we need to change things and for that reason I'd have Moore and Horsfield on the bench. It's an attacking formation but that's the idea. We've been far too negative under Blackie. Richardson - playing out of position which is something I criticised KB for doing but I am left with no option as KB has sold all our left backs. Crainey just isn't an option in my book. Stone's fitness - if it's an issue then I'd bring on Nicholls and push Westlake into the hole behind the front two. We need to get the midfield and attack playing together. We have never done that under Blackie and one of the reasons we rarely score from open play. Will people on this list finally accept that ? Looking forward to it today. First time for a while.
