Hi Ted. Isn't working so well is a bit of an
understatement isn't it ? I disagree with what you
say. Since Christmas we've won bugga all and our form
going into the play-offs was disgraceful along with
our performance in the final. It was wrong to think
that Blackwell could improve this season. Before
Christmas he was bloody lucky with god knows how many
goals from pens and free-kicks. We won an awful lot of
games we shouldn't have. He should not have been
allowed to spend the money he did on new players (over
a million !). He keeps buying the same sort oif player
without trying anything new. Westlake, Nicholls and
Douglas have all yet to impress and in Douglas he's
just wasted a quarter of a million pounds + wages for
3 years on absolute garbage. He still doesn't
understand that pace is the key in this division - not
experience. He still refuses to be adventurous in his
tactics and still relies on an overweight, has been
centre half as his captain.
It's not down to whether there were alternatives this
Summer it was all down to who realised that Blackie's
time was up and who thought he could take us forward.
You can dress it up how you want Ted but there's
plenty on this list who have completely changed their
minds about Blackwell cos of the start of this season
but at the time seemed oblivious to the similiar run
of bad form towards the end of last season just cos we
ended up crawling through to Cardiff.
Me + a mate sat down and looked at the start of this
season and we reckoned that after 10 games we would
have 7 points. We could be right.
It's all about staying up now. Blackie will take us
down. He's still making the same elementary mistakes
as he did in his first season of management. FFS ,
picking Gregan in midfield !! I'd have sacked him
after that first season and said as much when I saw
his first team sheet for last season.
He can moan like a little kid about Bates not giving
money to progress but if you look at the bench on
Saturday there's no excuses. Robbie Blake is yet
another bloke who Blackwell bought without considering
that his arse looked big. He can play , but he can't
f'cking move !

Barnet tomorrow - Can't fooking wait !
