What potentially is shaping up could prove to be a real nightmare. Up until the run in to Cardiff when I was quite happy to keep KB although not particularly enamoured by his tactics it was due to two thing:
1). There was never, and Rich you NEVER really provided one, a REAL alternative. A sensible 'real world' alternative. There is now. 2). My expectations of where we could be were never high. They are now. If Alan Curbishley had taken a call last week saying, "Alan, we want you. We'll be virtually debt free by the end of the season, we've potentially got some investment, albeit not huge and we can give you Y amount" I reckon he'd have been up the M1 like a shot. Unfortunately there is now a creditable alternative for AC ... If Alan Curbishley took two calls today on the phone, the one above and another along the lines of "Alan, we want you, we've got the parachute payments for two years which we'll allow you to spend wisely. We've still pretty much got the basic squad we had in the Premiership and we can afford to give you X amount" ... It's the M40 for AC ... NONE of the other alternatives, for me, is viable in our current situation. Which would leave us, in my eyes, fcuked.
