Oh dear, oh dear.

Didn't see the debacle at all, but it sounds horribly like my lowest
point as a Leeds fan, being at Wembley in 73 where there seemed to be
90,000 Mackem bastards all singing jubilantly.

I have to reluctantly agree after that result that the Balckwell outers
have a very strong case. The problem, though, remains.............which
quality manager in their right minds would come to Elland Road? In a
way, we are lucky, because there are some decent managerial candidates
available (in that category, as well as several names mentioned
recently, I would ask................what is Mickey Adams doing these
days?)

It has got to a point where I would love to see Curleybish installed,
but I just think realistically there are two massive stumbling blocks:

1. Can we afford to pay off Blackwell (who like O'Leary just before he
was sacked has just signed a new contract)?.....that would mean adding
to the list of ex-employees we are still paying.
2. Would ANY attractive candidate be tempted by a package which would
include not a lot of money (for his salary), no money to buy players,
falling attendances, a notoriously fickle chairman, fans with massively
unrealistically expectations, a place in the relegation zone........AND
Rich Walker!

I am no longer in the Blackwell In camp, but I still think the
probability is that he will not be fired.
