But if you look at it. Sprake hardly played after 1972, when Harvey became undisputed no 1. Clarke only signed at the beginning of 69-70. Reaney got injured April 1970 and didn't play for a long time. (Wasn't quite the same player after that) Cooper was injured early 72, did he miss the cup final? J Charlton didn't play much after the 72 cup final either due to injury/getting old. Eddie Gray had lots of injury problems in the early 70s. Still it surprises me that they did not manage to get that team out a few times in the 69-70 season. The other oft quoted XI is with Harvey instead of Sprake and the rumour about it is that XI NEVER started a game.
