In the current squad I'd go with someone like defoe before a not 100% fit owen. It pains me to say it but even Crouch, who the other night actually won and directed a few headers, and took his goal quite well. I was even impressed by the 80's goal celebration.
I have also said that I think Lennon would be a better choice up front on his own, because he has better control than owen, so could bring other players/lay ball off to rooney or Gerrard (whoever plays behind them). He is quicker than Owen, so would force defenders to drop off him a bit, and his finishing is probably on a par with owen too, which isn't saying much. Also he will draw more fouls, which is an important factor with Beckham in the side. As for not 100% fit, I'd still pick Rooney if he was only 90% fit, especially if it meant Carragher wasn't going to play the holding midfield role! > >I think there are plenty of other, more effective players to pick from > > I wish there was.... who?? > > >he certainly shouldn't be first choice if he isn't 100% match fit. > > Absolutely - same for everyone. > > Gaffer > > > _______________________________________________ > the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators > accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors. > Leedslist mailing list > [email protected] > http://list.zetnet.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist > oh alright then :-) _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
