Yes Spring had personal problems and he also had injury problems but the fact is and you can't deny it Blackie at the time preferred experience in the form of Jermaine Wright and Sean Gregan. Spring got 6 starts. He played in our best performance of the season against Sunderland and then got dropped for the returning Gregan (who was suspended against Sunderland). We then went on a losing run whilst Spring returned to the reserves.
