was a stone cold penalty we should have been given in the first PNE game
in the first few mins and the ref bottled it simply because it was so
early on.
Nobody said anything about being lax early doors so as not to spoil the
game. The point is not to send players off as a first resort and only if you
have to, whatever stage the game is at. As for Preston the ref definitely
bottled it and didn't give a penalty, but if we had put the ball in the net
I wouldn't have wanted it chalked off and their man red carded instead,
which is what happened to Barca. I don't see how his giving the penalty
would have spoiled the game anyway. It might have drastically improved the
game if Preston realised that they couldn't get away with what turned out to
be constant fouling for the whole of that game and the first half of the
second.
