Hardly relevant anymore, but I was particularly upset about the
ball-on-the-touchline incident leading to their 2nd goal.

It has been a bugbear of mine down the years that that law is not properly
administered. The ball wasn't out..........it had not COMPLETELY crossed
the line. BUT, incidents like that are given as out 99% of the time. I am
usually left screaming at the tv when it happens...........and it usually
is a complete irrelevance anyway. Trust the one time when the linesman gets
it right to cost US a goal!

Perhaps the reason why this specific, admittedly minor, thing particularly
annoys me is that in 35 years involvement in football as a player and coach
the only yellow card I ever got was when, as a coach, one of my players
chased a ball towards the line and reached it right in front of me. He
dragged it back when the it was on (NOT over) the line and set off for
goal, and the bloody lino flagged for a throwin. All I did was shout at him
that the whole of the ball had not crossed the line, and the pillock ref
gave me a yellow card.
