To be honest, I’d rather Clarke went than either Philips or Shackleton. Clarke looked very lightweight at times, but there’s a special player in there. Like you say, IF we invest this in effective Championship level quality then it may turn out to be a very prudent bit of business?
That said, have we actually bought anyone since last season ended? Lots of gossip, but surely Bielsa still can’t think we can do it with what we’ve got?
