I remember the year so well. Then, as now, there was no sense of disappointment. It was there, of course. However, we knew then, like now, that something tremendous and irreversible had occurred. We were MOT. Happy days then and now. Justified optimism and pride are the greatest of elixirs.

For all the WOTL (whippersnappers-on-the-list), I'll recap. As usual (in the |70s), we were going for a treble. Then we lost 5 and drew 1 of our last 7 games (and the |only win was in a meaningless last league game.) And 2 of those games were Cup Finals. |So yeah, we ended up with nowt. | |When the players returned after their hols, The Don said to them that his goal for the |year was to go the whole season unbeaten. Well, he failed in that...........but we did win |our first 7, and set a record by not losing until late in February.........and we won the |league at a canter. | |So Marcelo, if you're reading this..........you know what to say to the lads when they get |back. (Except if I know Bielsa, the goal would not be to go unbeaten but to WIN every |game!) _______________________________________________ |Leedslist mailing list |Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist |To unsubscribe, email [email protected] | |Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/leedslist/ | |RIP Jimmy WAC-COE _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/leedslist/ RIP Jimmy WAC-COE
