yes Anderlecht was great - possibly the best  football-wise, we totally
destroyed a team with a long unbeaten home euro record, and we played some
scintillating stuff BUT the sing-a-long after the Milan game was just something
else - probably unique in the whole of football
From memory we did try and have a bit of a sing with the players after one of
the later games (possibly  Anderlecht ?0  but it was not anywhere near the same
level being preplanned and a pale imitation. Milan was just totally off the
cuff as we were kept in for ages by the police
The after match celebrations in Milan and the hotel I was in  were special too
- I did not make it to bed at all, and we emptied everyones mini bar after the
barman left at 4am so we could keep on drinking and enjoying the night.
It almost went wrong when one lad stepped over a velvet rope and touched a huge
'Ming' vase - taller than me- and set it rocking. For a minute it looked like
it was going to fall and break but it rocked and rocked for what felt like ages
and then righted itself.

The whole European adventure was brilliant and really was 'living the dream'
for those of us lucky enough to be able to go , especially to the away games
I feel sorry for the younger fans who are unlikely to experience it- because it
was new to us all we took huge numbers 5 or 6,000 were normal size followings.
If we had carried on in europe I am sure that this would have dropped right
down. (we took 6,000 to Rome for Roma game but only 900 v Lazio a year later,
lots, like myself, giving it a miss since I had already been to that country,
city and ground

Ted & Dave,

How can anyone leave out Anderlecht, that magic evening of the 4-1 tonking?

James.

Totally agree Dave. For me, 50 years of being a Leeds fan and that night
was so special - don't think it'll ever be matched. Closest I ever came was
Barca at home in 75.

I don't care whether Ridsdale fucked us over - his heart was in the right
place.  To those of us who were lucky enough to "live the dream", those
days will never be matched.
Moscow, Rome, Madrid, Milan, Prague, Barcelona, etc - will Leeds fans ever
again be able to match where we went? Not  in my lifetime I bet.

I still love going to games but fuck me, those trips were something else.

Sad. But great memories.
