Does pre-season mean anything? Last year we won 6 of 7 games, and came 13th. 11/12 4 wins, 2 draws - 14th. 10/11 4 wins, 2 losses - 7th. The year we got promoted from League 1 we only won 2 and drew the other 5. First season in League 1 we lost six pre-season games, then won 8 of the first 10 league games (and would have been promoted, except for that -15).
