I have similar issues on a ThinkPad W550s laptop with a 2880x1620 display, running OpenSuse (13.2). Here I currently have the font DPI setting at 204.
But no problems at all on my desktop system with 1920x1080 displays. (DPI setting is default of 96). Dave.
