Although I have no DAQ hardware in my laptop, I still expect to be able to start the DAQ assistant. However, it pops up with the dialog box 'Initializing DAQ Assistant' and just hangs there.
I checked http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/5300aa5b93a4cc9c86256e360000e955?OpenDocument (KB 368H5UFQ) which refers to setting security permissions on the MAX folder, but the procedure is incorrect for my computer (I can't see a 'security' tab, even when logged in as Administrator). So security settings still may be the problem, but I don't know how to change them on my version of WinXP (2002 SP1). By the way, my Instrument I/O Assistant works. Thanks for your help, -Dave
