I agree with your assessment Marianne and thank you for the eloquent reply. In my research it seems opioid use was more of a a 19th-century phenomenon when factory work was displacing lacemakers and increasing hardships. And these stereotypes are generally overblown - it'd be interesting to dig deeper into medical records perhaps to see if any statistics could be sussed out, but it's unlikely. -Elena
