Thanks for the replies and explanation that it is the "waiting time" for the CID info before the TDA will release the call to the extensions. I understand you can't get CID info before then.
But it seems the call is not available at all during that first ring period. What I mean is the CO light goes solid red (says BUSY if you try to answer it) and no extensions ring during that time. Other than the red light, there is no knowledge (audible) a caller is dialing in. In the TD1232, while the CID info similarly couldn't display during the first ring period, the extensions rang and the customer was alerted that a call arrived. He could turn to the phone and prepare to look at the CID info on the phone or even answer it if he wanted to. This customer is used to answering incoming calls quickly - almost before the 2nd ring starts. With the TDA however, the caller will hear two plus rings before being answered instead of one plus ring. I know it is a small inconvenience, but if the system knows a call is ringing, it seems it could let extensions start to ring immediately so the customer can prepare to answer. Thanks for your thoughts. Because the CID is sent BETWEEN the first and second ring, if you want CID you MUST let it ring one time. IF there is a way to stop the customer from "seeing" the first ring, maybe Carl has some idea Don Ritchie, Century Communication Euclid Ohio Charlie Brown wrote: > I am programming my first TDA100 after attending the Panasonic class and > am having a problem with the ICD group setup.
