If this is always going to dial an outside line and it is a dedicated 
extension, you can program it for Pickup Dialing.

You set the time in 203 to 1 second, and dial 742 82 # then 741 # to set it on.

In your modem string, start the dial sequence with a comma.

If you need that extension for other things, you can always just dial 
82 for the second line and skip pickup dialing.
