I have a client who lives and dies for caller ID. I set up the Call
Log-Common to a feature button on a 7736 desk phone. In its default mode
the KXTA824 Call Log-Common is only allowing me to dial back numbers which
share the same area code of her number (212). This is a problem because NYC
has five area codes (212, 347, 646, 718, 917) before you factor in every
other long distance area code.

I dial out via the Call Log by doing the following:

  - While on-hook press "Call Log" feature button
  - Scroll up or down through Call Log
  - Stop at number
  - Go off-hook,
  - Press Call Log button (which dials last number viewed)

When the above is done I can only connect with 212 numbers. With the
non-212 numbers I get a Verizon recording that tells me it cannot connect.

In 903-Caller ID Modification for Long Distance Numbers via the software I
tried to tweak the problem. In "Added Number" I entered a 1, uploaded to
the KSU without success. Then tried 91, uploaded to the KSU, still no luck.

  Anyone familiar with this issue?

  Thanks in advance
  Chris

try 999 for area code, then delete 0 (none), and then add (blank) or a
"1". you can edit the number before dialing (to add a "1" if blank was
selected)

works in dallas, but no guarantees ;-)
